Leech Lake Guide Coalition

A trip on the water with a guide can yield the best of times, or the worst. Simply said, the Leech Lake Guide Coalition provides the best.

The LLGC is a collection of the area’s preeminent and most professional fishing guides.  From stalking muskies on massive Leech Lake to largemouth bass on secret hideaways, these guys know how to hook fish and entertain clients.

Beyond standard guided trips, the LLGC coordinates corporate fishing adventures, both in and out of the fishing industry. They also field test and help develop products, as well as provide fishing information to influential media members.

Minnesota fishing legend Al Maas of Walker was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame March 23 during the Northwest Sports Show in Minneapolis. Maas was enshrined as a “Legendary Guide.” To be inducted, nominees must gain a status of credibility and immortality as judged by clients, region and/or peers; demonstrate all-around skills and long-term success in the guiding business; have served and influenced multiple generations of anglers; and have made a significant personal and lasting contribution to the guiding profession, as well as to freshwater sport fishing. The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, located in Hayward, Wis., is all about education, recognition and promotion of fresh water sport fishing, and Maas has exemplified that since he moved to Walker more than 50 years ago
